FRIDAY FAVES| July 28

Friday Favorites

Can you believe their are only Five more Friday’s after this one until School Starts?! I am well prepared and ready to soak up every last moment of Summer. Today I’m sharing Five Favorites from this week.

FridayFav1

In my post earlier this week I mentioned how my boy was going to be playing in the Semi-Final Championship Game and THE YANKEE’S WON!!! So we are headed to the Championship Game tomorrow!!! They all played so well collectively on offense and defense and I was such a proud momma and supporter of these young men!

YNKCHAMP

Photo Credit: Erin, she’s the best & Will and Hogan are a great duo on the courts & fields!

I have been loving these personalized bracelets! They are delicate and silver coated in 24k gold. Earlier this week I didn’t have them on in the morning once I was dressed and ready for the day and I was styling Mackenzie’s hair and she says “Mommy, where is your Mackenzie bracelet?!” I said oh do I like have to wear it every day!? And she said “Absolutely!” haha! So every day I’ve been wearing these and love them so much! Such a sweet reminder of their precious little selves during the day!

This Kimono is from Milaeger’s and it’s so beautiful and also seems delicate and just so perfectly pretty!

My Favorite Bible Verse this week has been a long time favorite. When we rid ourselves of being consumed of ourselves, and we posture our hearts and our minds on God, He is so faithful to make it all well with our soul and give us and keep us in perfect peace.

Isaiah 26:3

My Favorite Quote for the Week goes well with this weeks verse actually!

FridayFav4

These two pieces were a favorite wear this week! Both are super comfy and have a little edge to them. They are both in the Nordstrom Sale which will be going on until August 6th so, if you haven’t checked out the sale yet, head over to Nordstrom now.

Socialite Cutout Choker Tee

When I first received this shirt, I was a little skeptical actually because the strap across was much shorter looking but when I actually was wearing it, it was perfect and much like the models here. I also tucked it in the middle as well as it sat best that way! Love this, waiting and hoping they re-stock the black and if they don’t I have the grey in my bag ‘waiting’ for later because this shirt is amazingly comfortable and cute.

Zella Cece High Waist Open Knee Leggings

These are perfection. I also had a slight reservation when I received these open knee zella leggings they appeared super small and so I was thinking that I would have to return them but they actually fit perfectly and to say that these are comfortable, is an understatement! I love them. They are totally in my weekend rotation!

FridayFav5

These kids finished up their summer program and both received great reports from their teachers! They are just stellar kids and speaking of stellar, I’d have to say that #Stellar and #Stoked are probably my favorite words of the week as well! #thankfulforthem #lovethem

Have a great weekend!!!

What’s Up Wednesday | July 2017

Today is What’s Up Wednesday!

What a great summer it’s turned out to be so far – right, and we still have a little over a month left of the goodness! #excited #ilovesummer

I hope you all are enjoying every bit of it and making the most of every day as it goes so, so fast. Today I will be sharing the following fun and random little bits of our life with you so, Enjoy!

WUWednesdayBlog

WHAT WERE EATING

Wednesday: Bacon Apricot & Roasted Red Pepper Panini’s

Thursday: Italian Sausage Kale Soup & Chef Salad

Friday: We are heading to the County Fair so we will grab some Fair Food Finds out there! #funnelcakes #creampuffs

Saturday: Lettuce Burgers & Corn on the Cobb

Sunday: BBQ Chicken Taco’s

The kids have enjoyed dessert like every single night this week. Say What!!! 🙂 Just a few spoonfuls of their picks below gives their little tummies a sweet delight! Will was talking about why Sorbet is obviously the better choice over Ice-cream so he started to read the ingredients to back up his opinion and Mackenzie said ‘okay you can stop Will, there is no way my ice-cream is healthy it’s just delicious’ It cracks me up but hey isn’t that what summer is all about!  We also made homemade Strawberry Icecream earlier this month and it was actually pretty scrumptious!icecreamyouscream

And I just have to share the fact that this deliciousness launched at Starbucks this week. It’s a Teavana pineapple fruit botanical black tea blend with coconut milk – however I had my barista shake it with some heavy cream as well to make it just a little ‘richer’ tasting per her suggestion! It was super refreshing and enjoyable and it’s joining the permanent menu so if you like piña coladas and refreshing splashes of deliciousness you may want to try this but no rush because you can get this all year long!

WHAT IM REMINISCING ABOUT

Our trip to California, I wanted to go back so bad and spoke to Will about going back yet still this year and he was thinking of taking us out there this year for My Birthday in October but it would be such a short trip that I thought it will be better to wait and make the most of it later!

We have tossed it back and forth over the last two years about moving out there and making California our HOME Sweet HOME and I do believe it will come to be as the whole family is on board so yes, Sweet Cali has been what I’ve been reminiscing about.

Sunrises are divine. The resort we stayed at was amazing!

The Oceanfront is so beautiful and powerful, Washed this little baby Dolphin ashore.

We couldn’t keep this guy out of the Ocean – literally! He LOVES California!!!

WHAT IVE BEEN UP TO

Our Weeks have been so busy, I would have to say this entire year has been the busiest and best year yet! Thankful for God’s presence in our lives today, forever and always and His amazing grace, guidance and, unmerited favor. He leads and we follow and I’m grateful every day that He guides us through so graciously.

Will has enjoyed this season of baseball and I’m so glad! He is playing in the Semi-Final Championship for his baseball league tonight so we are all super excited about that!! This league has been a little intense with machine pitch and to say that he was so excited after winning his playoff game on Monday this week is an understatement, he was Stoked! He smiled so big and said ‘Momma this is the most excited I’ve ever been about playing in a baseball game’ I told him I am so proud of him and glad he is loving it! On the way home that night, I ‘interviewed‘ him and it was the cutest thing! #lovehim #myboy #chillwill

Some of the parents on the sidelines though have had me much like “what is going on in the world!?!” #itsnotthatserious #3rdbasecoachproblems (pic from Milwaukee Zoo) lol

Mackenzie has been a busy bee with cheer and tumbling classes twice a week and she is totally loving it. It’s like her thing and it’s so exciting to see her in her element. She is excited to add a Hip-Hop class into the mix starting in August. These are the times of our lives and we have to enjoy every single moment of it! #loveher #mygirl

WHAT IM DREADING

Currently nothing, thankfully! #alliswell

WHAT IM WORKING ON

I am working on figuring out the best way to manage it all. Aren’t we all!? Ha,ha! Seriously this year has been one of the busiest and best years of our lives yet and I’m so thankful for each opportunity the Lord has afforded to us and I just want to do the best I can in regards to setting us all up for success in all aspects of our priorities and that has proven to be a little more demanding and challenging than it has in years past. That scripture, Luke 12:48 comes to mind when I think of this year where it talks about To whom much is given, much is required and to who much has been entrusted, more will be asked! Can I get an #Amen!

We just have a few new focuses added to all of our lives so I have been trying to find the new normal in our scheduling so we can manage and manage well, thrive not just survive. So getting that in order has thingbeen a main focus for me this month. I have used this planner here to get me through this year and I have depended on this amazing little thing for our scheduling needs this entire last year. I am looking forward to ordering my next one already actually for 2018!! I know – to even think that we are closer now to 2018 than 2016 is crazy indeed, time really does fly doesn’t it! #makethemostofit

WHAT IM READING WATCHING

WATCHING

I watched the movie love and basketball the weekend before last. It’s been so long since I’ve sat down and watched this one and it’s official I still love it.

We are still watching The Good Wife, I think we are on Season 3 finally, I like love it!

the good wife

And last but not least we are watching The Bachelorette, I wonder who she is going to pick! I have no favorites actually so wishing Rachel the best!

READING

I’ve been reading the BIBLE, that’s the book for me, I stand upon the word of God the B-I-B-L-E. Ha, don’t you love those Sunday School Songs we grew up with! I haven’t been reading as much as I’d like lately! Just the Bible along with my daily devotional. I have the Jesus Always by Sarah Young. I don’t love it as much as I loved Jesus Calling by Sarah Young. I can’t tell you how much I loved this devotional and how timely it was. So I think I’d still highly recommend Jesus Calling if you are looking for a devotional but I wouldn’t jump to recommend her Jesus Always.

I have also been reading bits of the Unstuffed: Decluttering Your Home, Mind, and Soul book for the last month or so.

unstuffed

 WHAT IM LISTENING TO

I want to be your man by Zapp & Roger. I think it’s because I watched love and basketball and…. I just had to go add this to my itunes library! #iloveoldschooljams seriously!

I’ve also been listening to some older Alicia Keys and Beyonce faves and this song by Lecrae & Tori Kelly, I like the light and catchy melody.

lecrae

WHAT IM EXCITED ABOUT

shark week

Ha,ha! I literally did get excited about #SharkWeek I love how they come up with all this stuff! It really is the making the most out of the littlest things that makes life so great and grand! So what was exciting about Shark Week this year? Well if you haven’t checked this out already and I’m sure you have but in case you haven’t click here on this link to watch what happens when Michael Phelps Races Great White Shark (technically and technically not live but still)

What is Shark Week? Shark Week is an annual week of honoring Sharks on the Discovery Channel. So in essence, it is educational, informative and, entertaining. Shark Week has been going on since July of 1988 so I thought that was pretty neat!

WHAT IM WEARING

bracelets

Personalized Bracelets with My Babies Names | Ani & Alex Bangle | Gorjana Gold Hoops

ASICS GEL

These Asics Gel’s are so amazing! They were a gift from my hubbs and well worth it! They are so breathable durable comfortable and oh so lively! Similar Asics Gel here. And aren’t Mackenzie’s little feet just so cute. I have been wearing these every M-F for my morning walk with my love!

meltedlips

I have been loving this lip duo Too Faced Melted Long Wear Lip Stick | NYX Lip Liner

nordy

Carly Crops | Lush Cross Top I purchased in three colors, I love the feel & fit so adorbs!

WHAT IM DOING THIS WEEKEND

Heading to the County Fair to watch the Demo Derby! The kids were intrigued when Dad was telling them all about it so that’s going to be fun along with seeing the horses and enjoying funnel cakes! #yum

Saturday I signed Mackenzie up for a special Dance Class Workshop so we may wake up early, workout on the beach then head over to that and then later that day I think I’ll get some painting done.

Other than that, we are going to add some final touches to our kitchen and hopefully Go for a Bike Ride since the kids got new bikes this week! (They decided to sell their old bikes at the rummage this year so they could upgrade and they are both so excited about their new bikes!)

WHAT IM LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH

Enjoying the last month of Summer, Every single day of it + Back to School Shopping!!!

WHAT ELSE IS NEW

I am super duper excited about our kitchen remodel coming to a close! #thankyouJesus It’s almost done and it’s sooooo exciting. My husband is SUCH a handy man, I’m in awe! I have very few words that can do Will justice all around, he is legitimately beyond an amazing man and I’m eternally grateful for every bit of him. He’s been working so hard to get this done and done well and yeah, he’s really just a stellar person all around and I am so appreciative for him and all he does and for who he is and without him I don’t think this kitchen remodel would have gone so swell.

We have just a few more things to finalize and it will be DONE! I would not sign up for a kitchen remodel like ever again in my life while living in the home with smaller children. It’s just a lot more than I personally anticipated however I should have listened to Will. He certainly told me that it was a HUGE undertaking and indeed it has been.

Is it worth it you ask? Absolutely! So if I were to ever do this again which I don’t foresee ever happening but if I did, I’d have to set up a mock kitchen in another one of our living spaces because we just need our kitchen, it really is the heart of our home.

Well that’s what’s up with our Wednesday! Have a great rest of your day & night!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2017

My favorite SALE of the year has officially kicked off today!

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale opened today exclusively for ‘Card Holders’.

I love this sale so much because you know I am a budget-friendly shopper who likes a good deal on quality gear + this is a great time to stock up on some basic quality staples that you can mix & match, layering with multiple outfits.

The best part is you don’t have to have their credit card to shop the sale you can sign up for a debit card and have the same access as I do with the credit card. I may also love this sale because well I love fall, it’s probably my favorite season of them all! Seriously though I love it so much because this sale always makes me feel like I’ve made some good choice investments into my wardrobe. It’s the time when Nordstrom (my favorite store by the way) marks down some of their best fall apparel as low as 40% off! I mean call me crazy but to me, that’s my kind of deal!

So I typically buy some key go-to basic pieces that are maybe just a few bucks more than you’d pay at your local stores like target and what not, but you are getting way better quality which will last you longer – in turn allowing you to actually spend less as you won’t have to replace items so frequently!

Every year I also save up for a splurge item or two and did I mention everything ships free and if you don’t love it, no problem they also offer free returns.

So here is the scoop as to why I am encouraging you to sign up for either the Nordstrom Debit or Credit Card because this is such a great Sale + Nordstrom gives their card holders the priv to shop 8 days prior to everyone else.

Why is that so grand? Well because not only do you get 1st dibs on the merchandise but you will beat the chance of the items you really want or could use being sold out. So the sale goes until August 6th this year. It kicked off today exclusively for card holders and will open to everyone else on July 21st.

So although the sale started today, you still have time to gain early access you can sign up, HERE

Now . . . Get going, Click this linke HERE, Then head over to Nordstrom.com to Shop Now & Thank me later!

My Fourth Finds!

July2017

Will’s Oakley Sunglasses here My Quay Sunglasses here My Carly Crop Jeans here

(a pic of us this morning at our parade held in downtown racine)

Happy 4th of July from My Family to Yours!

Happy Birthday America!

I’m writing this blog, sitting next to the hubs and listening to the kids chant “America, America, We love America!” as they ride their bikes in the neighborhood. It’s been such a beautiful day and a great way to Celebrate America. I hope you all are having a wonderful, safe and,  happy 4th of July!

This year I shopped early for our Festive Fourth attire, I typically rotate in some way between a Red, White and, Blue theme or an Army Fatigue, Green Theme in support of America or our Troops!

I purchased this fun awesome and simple America Tee for Will Jr. however it’s a little bigger than I was anticipating so he didn’t wear it to this years parade, but may wear it to the fireworks tonight!

So here are a few of my Fourth Sale Finds this year!

Beauty Bakerie

So I’ve been wanting to try out these Lip Whips from Beauty Bakerie however I just couldn’t bring myself to pay $20 for a Lip Whip I wasn’t sure about but they have free shipping and have marked them down for a 4th of July Sale so I purchased this one in Versailles as I’ve kind of been crushing on the blue nudes.

If I like the application and wear of this vegan product I will order this coconut mango lip whip next!

Nordstrom

I also picked up this simple T-Strap black short sleeve tee since it was on sale and I’m a sucker for hi-lo tees with leather leggings or leggings period!

This Dr. Dennis Skincare Mini Peel was an item I actually sampled in my sephora play box and loved it so I found this mini version of it and thought for just $16 I’d buy to have on hand as I could see such a great difference in my pores after just one pad applied.

I am also picking up this little simple socialite tee in grey as I am interested in the neck detail. I feel like it could add a little something in a simple way.

The humidity has been so insane and it makes my mane craze so I picked up the small size of this Living Proof No Frizz Humidity Shield and hoping that helps with all this humid hot weather we’ve been having!

This Pleione Off the Shoulder Dress in Green and blue was something I wasn’t sure about but thought I wanted a few shorter yet not to form fitting style dresses so just did it!

And last but not least from Nordstrom is a top from another one of my favorite brands and that’s the Lush Cross Front Blouse in black and in June Bug marked 55% off!

ASOS

This is my first purchase from ASOS, I don’t know if I’m that late as to shopping with ASOS or what but I actually am looking forward to these few items that I picked up for Fall. I think I could actually pull them off on a brisk summer day as well, in honor of our occasional chilly summer days here in Wisconsin.

I purchased all of these items from ASOS but they are the boohoo brand and on sale! I was browsing around the boohoo.com site itself and them somehow stumbled upon these greater finds on ASOS’ site.

I shopped this SALE and purchased the Boohoo Cable Knit Roll Sweater in Blue, Boohoo Ruffle Cold Shoulder Knit Sweater in Pink, Boohoo Slashed Neck Sweater again in a puff Blue and, a Boohoo Funnel Neck Wide Sleeve Sweater in Grey. You can just click those links and it will take you directly to the items purchased!

Here is an exclusive 15% off your first order of every full priced item on ASOS.com when you select that link above!

They will be having a SALE on 7/10 – 7/13 that I plan to shop for a few Dresses!

thestyledcollection.com

I have been googoo-gaga over the style of this necklace and finally found an affordable one! I’m really looking forward to this beauty!

If you missed it, I  posted in my last blog about how I picked up these jeans as well as these since they are my new favorite brand of jeans and they are on sale. Totally in love with Articles of Society at the moment.

4th-of-July-Postcard

Well that’s all for now ladies! Hope you all have plans for enjoying the Fireworks tonight! This is definitely one of my favorite holidays. Enjoy everyone!

Love,

What’s Up Wednesday | June 17

Hello Gorgeous,

Today is What’s Up Wednesday! I’m linking up with a great community of MOM bloggers to share these random and fun topic highlights!

WUWednesdayBlog

So here is What’s Up with me this Wednesday,

I.       What We’re Eating the rest of this Week

Wednesday Sausage Kale Soup, this is so yummy ya’ll. My husband actually originated this recipe with ingredients that we had on hand one night and ever since then we’ve just loved it!

Thursday Turkey, Apricot and Hummus Panini’s with Kale Chips

Friday Rotisserie or Grilled BBQ Chicken, Corn on the Cobb & a Side Salad with Strawberry slices

Saturday We will be out and about on this day so we will dine out! I believe the hubbs wants to go to Sonic.

Sunday Flank Steak Salad with Kale and Mixed Greens topped with Balsamic Vinegar (Ranch for Junior – as I’m sure he considers ranch to be one of the major food groups. I mean he has it with everything – it’s so crazy!)

II.      What I’ve Been Reminiscing About

Our 11 year Wedding Anniversary Celebration this year, which was so amazing! Truly a sweet Sweet sweet day! Will put it all together for us – he truly amazes me with how he cherishes our Love. All I had to do was schedule our sitter and be ready on time. It was such a special day, I had such a sweet and beautiful time with my Will, he is truly so romantically sweet. #HeLovesMe!

I was thinking about how we celebrated the week prior to Spring Break so I wasn’t able to fully savor all the goodness of this day prior to hitting the road and soaking up all the good family time we enjoyed on our spring break vacation but this day was one of the sweetest things!

spirit of chi 4(here is a view of the windy city from our ship – the view was amazing! pinch me)

Will scheduled a lunch cruise in the windy city of Chicago for us to enjoy. He booked the Spirit of Chicago. From the moment we stepped foot onto the boat every part of their staff wished us a Happy Anniversary. I was shocked the first time as I was curious how they knew, so that was a sweet little touch added to a sweet little day! I have never been surprised so this was so nice, I’m so blessed and grateful.

spirit of chi 5

(I just love my handsome so much!)

The food was delicious, the view was impressively memorable, the hugs and kisses were breathtaking, the company was unforgettable and, the memories of this day will last a lifetime I’m so happily in love with my husband and I thank the Lord I get to spend my forever with such a great man!

spirit of chi 1When we walked in, they took us to our table that was covered in rose petals. I was literally blushing inside & out! Will just knows my love language so well and it still blows my mind that he loves and adores me the way he does. #truelove

I was staring into His eyes and thinking of just how thankful I am that here at 11 years, I love him more than I have yet to this day. I mean I am just so grateful to be blessed with such a love like ours, truly am! #happyheart

spirit of chi 3

(Is this view not awesome!)

After the cruise we had some time so we walked around Navy Pier, grabbed a delicious cup of Java and watched the people of Chicago for a little bit. I love people watching in the big city! As we were sitting there he announced that he had another surprise. He revealed that he scheduled a couples massage downtown in the city. I mean is he not a little bit of perfect? Yes he is!

After the massages, he took me to my absolute favorite bakery of all time in Chicago, “Sweet Mandy B’s” if you haven’t tried this place, you must! I love this little joint so much! I get their confetti cookies every single time and I can’t just get one and, I’m not willing to disclose how many I get but trust me they are that good!!! On this day we were in line and out comes one of the bakers with these little mini versions of none other than my fave, ‘the confetti cookie’ and asks just Will and I if we’d like them at no charge! UM, are you kidding me? Absolutely with great joy and pleasure – Thank you! I mean our day was filled with sweet little moments of goodness like this. So that’s what I have been reminiscing about, just been thinking about our love and how much I enjoy being one half of a romantic couple. I’m so blessed to be Mrs. Wilfred Ortiz.

III.     What I’m Loving

favetarte

Tarte Shape Tape and Tarteist Clay Paint Eye Liner have been some beauty faves all month! These are my first Tarte products and I’m kind of crushing on Tarte!

favecontour

I have also been loving this Lorac ‘Pro’ Contour Palette & Brush I have had this for a few months and loved it at first but got distracted by Too Faces Bronzer but have been enjoying this little beauty again as it has been a great go to this spring/summer and I’m loving this brush!!!

favebible

I have been loving this bible. I have not been able to find a bible that I love more than I did my very first big girl bible that my grandfather bought me when I gave my heart and life to the Lord but I clearly wore that thing out as it’s been 17 years of good use. Will has bought me a couple but I just haven’t loved them. Will and I took off a half day for a couples massage. I guess we love couples massages ay!? : ) And we had some time to spare so we stopped at Barnes & Noble and I found this slimeline gem and I love it so much! My previous version was this bible but leather and I couldn’t find it anywhere so, I found this one.

IV.      What We’ve Been Up To

We have been up to so much! Busy Bee’s are We but with all good things!

The kids finalized their last season of Soccer with Coach Mike! They loved their soccer team and I truly wish we could have remained together forever but I think it was time. Our super and awesome soccer moms will make sure that we remain connected outside of soccer and I’m glad about that!

I always see how much they love each other but it’s been exceptionally special watching their bond as they’ve shared the field.

soccer1(Grabbed this pic of Miss Mackenzie using Will as her resting spot! Cuteness)

bestsoccerteameverHere is a pic of our team last season (minus Mason and Owen)

I shared this photo of them because well it’s my favorite one that I have taken it’s actually printed and framed in our family room.

Mackenzie had her first dance class last week and it was so amazing! Why? Because she found a passion in life. She was literally electric all night long! I was so excited for her that entire week prior because I just had a feeling that she was going to love it. Indeed she did! She was focused, in her zone and super duper excited, truly electric.

firstdayofdance

(here is a pic of her practicing her splits)

Just yesterday Mackenzie had the opportunity to experience a possible option for her “fall sport schedule” which is joining a Tumbling and Cheer Team along with a Hip Hop class and she really loved it and was so excited about it! So now she is contemplating where she see’s herself going in the next couple of years. She’s weighing the option of Basketball & Dance (Hip-Hop, Tap & Jazz) or, joining the Tumbling Cheer Competition Team. So she’s been considering and bouncing thoughts off of us today, it’s so cute how they look forward and have a vision for their future!

(Here she is doing her back bend, I call her sister long legs! Wow is she getting tall!)

We have been enjoying watching and cheering on Will as he is playing for the Yankee’s again this year. He’s really loving this year’s machine pitch! I have been assisting with coaching third base and I never knew how intense this position could be! Wow, but so fun encouraging the boys. Go Yankees! We are having a lot of fun with this league twice a week.

(Of course sissy is there to cheer him on in her Yankee’s Gear! Go Will!!!)

summerset

(The sunsets at the baseball diamond are a sliver of heaven, just so Racine beautiful.)

We have also been training and having basketball practices for the teams that we are sponsoring for the kids this year in the 3 on 3 Gus Macker Tournament. We have been enjoying these practices early Saturday Mornings and the weather this past Saturday was pure perfection. I love waking up so early on the weekends, prior to the majority of our town and getting out and about.

I know in my last What’s up Wednesday I said that I didn’t want our summer consumed by Sports and it has been pretty busy with sports but it won’t be all summer so enjoying it while it lasts!

V.       What I’m Dreading

Going through all of our stuff still for the rummage! I’ll be tackling this a little this weekend! We have nailed down a date which is fast approaching and I have communicated with our neighborhood so now all I have to do is gather all that’s for sale and prep and prime the items we are selling and sell them of course! I am some what excited to get rid of all of the ‘extras’ but I am not really looking forward going through all of that stuff!

VI.     What I’m Working On

I have been going through each section of our house little by little to purge and get rid of stuff we no longer need, use or, serves a purpose. I have been loving this and feeling so accomplished when I knock out one of the spaces! #ocdissues

I am working on planning my blog’s month’s at glance, so that I can just work my plan. My grandmother used to say that my great-grandfather would say “plan your work and work your plan, it’s that simple in life” so that’s sort of been my go to motto with planning out my work for my blog!

I am working on going through all of our recipes and weeding out the fattening and non-nutritious recipes from our recipe log.

I am working on being more disciplined with my workout schedule in the mornings.

VII.    What I’m Excited About

July & August! Things are going to slow down a little bit in these two months allowing for more family time and little moments to be enjoyed. I love summer time!

summersun

I’m not sure if I mentioned this or not but we are renovating our Kitchen with a help of My Husband Will, Chris our Contractor and, Scott our Electrician! I’m so glad that Will is pretty handy around here! This has been going on the since the weekend prior to Mother’s Day and I have to admit I am excited and inspired about it coming to a close as it’s just so exciting to see your vision come to life!

VIII.   What I’m Watching & Reading

Watching

We have been watching the “Good Wife” with Julianna Margulies who I think is just brilliant in this. So far we are on season two and she truly tries to do it all right, raising her children, standing by her husband, working and supporting her home. We say we will only watch one episode and then there we are at 10pm starting our ‘just one episode’ which turns into at least two or three and, Yup! We are tired the next day but we are truly liking this series so far. I’ll have to let you know if we continue to like it… maybe we’ll complete it by the end of July!

And of course we have been watching the Bachelorette!

Reading

I’ve really only been reading the Bible this month. I miss reading but truly can’t find the time right now to designate in all the busy.

IX.      What I’m Listening To

I have been listening to “Sweet Thing” by Rufus featuring Chaka Khan and singing this sweet little jam for the last two weeks and I’m just loving this old school jam!

I have also been listening to “Baila Esta Cumbia” and “Amor Prohibido by Selena Quintanilla

X.       What I’m Wearing

favecrops

These Carly Crops are again by my recent favorite jean brand, articles of society and I am loving them! I’m interested in these for my next purchase but I am not sure if they will remain this ‘black’, if any of you have any suggestion for a good black skinny, please let a lady know where to go!

Ok, Ladies!!! I just ordered these two AOS jeans, I scored them on SALE! I mean who doesn’t love a sale! They were both 40% off! So I purchased these because, I typically would get my worn look jeans from American Eagle but every time they would just get crazy obnoxious with the rips – so I’m looking forward to see how the Articles of Society Sarah Skinny Jeans (Worn) wear on me over time. I also picked these up a pair of these as well as they were also 40% off, Articles of Society Mya Skinny Jeans (Andorra). No excuse for this purchase other than it’s my favorite brand at 40% off.

So do your future self a favor and click on those links to pick up a pair of these awesome jeans and don’t forget Nordy has free shipping. I’m such a sucker for Free shipping!

favefrag

My favorite fragrance has been this Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet sweet scent that Will bought me actually maybe two years ago. It’s perfect for spring/summer as it’s light and beautiful. I have about 1/2 of this bottle remaining and I may use it all by the end of this summer because I am loving it.

fave glasses

OBSESSING over these Quay High Key Sunglasses they are just so fresh to me, I bought the black fade to clear but they have four other color options as well! They are sturdy like a higher end pair of sunglasses but don’t have the price of high end ones. If you are looking for a new pair of sunglasses I would highly suggest investing in these sweet little sunnies! I love them and if you aren’t willing to splurge a little on the Quay’s here is an affordable $14 pair by BP that are actually in my shopping cart as well since I have an obsession with sunglasses!

favecolorwatch

I love the pop of turquoise in this $9.49 watch from BP. So I think this is the Color of the Year officially and I’m loving it! It just catches my attention all the time when shopping around. And my Alex & Ani Initial Bracelet was a stocking stuffer from Will this past Christmas! I love it and wear it just about every day. I now want a “W one & M one” for Will and Mackenzie! Love this bangle, it’s dainty simple & cute.

And I guess my last faves are this Yankee Hat and my comfy Camo tee as they have been a favorite go to duo of mine this baseball season!

I have always loved the Yankees but this has an even greater meaning to me this year as my boy is playing for the Young Yankees! This hat is so comfortable and will cover any bad hair day or windy day! Oh and these hoops have been like an everyday go to as well.

XI.      What I’m Doing this Weekend

We have a fun little family adventure planned for this weekend that we are all looking forward to not to mention it’s the Fourth of July Weekend!

XII.     What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month

The Fourth of July, Family Time at The Beach, Bonfire & S’mores and all the Sunshine in July!

Love this pic of the kids from last year.  How much have they grown, Wow… Little Miss Mackenzie was toothless in this picture. haha! I love them so much

XIII.    What Else is New

I had the chance to carve out some special one on one time with this handsome little fella and it was the most precious heart-warming little date I’ve ever been on. To speak with him, to give him my undivided attention and for me to get the blessed opportunity to hear him pour out the depth of his heart and mind to his momma was nothing short of precious! We went to dinner and a movie and he opened my door at every chance, held my hand, printed out our movie tickets, laughed, smiled, made me laugh and just truly enjoyed. I love being his Momma, he makes it so easy. Such a great person is he.

datewithjunior.png

My olive anorak jacket is so lightweight, the hood is big enough and doesn’t make my head look like a cone head 😉 and is truly water resistant so it keeps me dry & warm and it definitely came in handy on this night as it was raining on our date night!

Well thanks for sharing your time with me!

Hope you have a FANTASTIC, SAFE & HAPPY Fourth of July Weekend!

Our Simple Summer Fun Ideas

Hello My Beautiful Friends,

We are only 5 days away from Sweet Summer 2017 kicking off and we are so excited here in Casa de Ortiz! Warmer Weather is finally here and we are no longer in fear of being frostbitten and sunburned in the same week, Praise the Lord, can we get a Hallejuiah! I think to often I found myself saying what a lovely winter we’re having this spring so I’m just stoked it will be official in just 5 more days!

springinwisco

Wisconsin weather is so, very indecisive about when it would like to share all four seasons with us. However it’s worth it because I’d say there may be very few places that share all four seasons as beautifully as we do here. I would have to say that next to the great temps it’s the early morning sunrises and longer nights that are my faves about sweet ol’ summer time.

In today’s blog, I am going to share our Summer Fun Bucket List. Since I’ve become a Mama, I have created a Summer Fun Bucket List and I believe it’s been three years now that I have been able to include the kids great ideas and it’s been so fun including them. Just to hear what the kids have to say and or would like to do is funny, cute, crazy and, life inspiring. Something about summer and being more laid back and just care free . . .

So here are some of our ideas for Summer 2017. We are going to mark of each and every single one of these. In the event we don’t accomplish all this simple summer fun, we will be sure to add those things to our list for next year as well! 🙂

What’s Up Wednesday |May 17

Hello Gorgeous,

Today is What’s Up Wednesday!

Once a month I’ll be linking up with a great community of bloggers sharing these random and fun topic highlights! I’m excited to be sharing my very first What’s Up Wednesday with you!

Here is the list of questions I’ll be sharing with you just below…

WUWednesdayBlog

So here is What’s Up with me this Wednesday,

I.       What We’re Eating this Week

Wednesday Flank Steak Salad with Kale and Mixed Greens topped with Balsamic Vinegar (Ranch for Junior – as I’m sure he considers ranch to be one of the major food groups. I mean he has it with everything – it’s so crazy!)

Thursday Hawaiian Chicken Kabobs served on a bed of spinach

Friday The kids will dine out with our sitter while Will and I will be dining at Miller Park

Saturday Lettuce Tacos’ served with my fav topping as of late which is diced fine red and green bell peppers along with corn kernels seasoned with a few dashes of sea salt, garlic and 1 packet of truvia. I don’t know what it is about that combo but it’s pretty scrumptious and would compliment any taco in our opinions!

Sunday Rotisserie Chicken & Corn on the Cobb along with Pineapple Wedges

II.      What I’ve Been Reminiscing About

Our Spring Break to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We are thankful to have had the opportunity to mark this off of our list. I heard a few years back that this was a great place for families so we thought it was worth checking out. I can’t say that I will be sitting down anytime soon to schedule a trip back however, there were some parts of the trip that undeniably made for a great experience. It’s more of a been there done that kind of thing as we gathered some great memories along the way. Truly there are probably very few places away from home that I would eagerly look forward to going right back to, like Cali Sands are my jam! #caligirlatheart #californialove

Okay so the things that just warm my heart and give me glad thoughts are the endless days on the Ocean front of Myrtle Beach, our resort was placed right on the Ocean, literally just steps away and our Pent House overlooked the Ocean every morning accompanied with a glorious sunrise. The family time was priceless and, our trip to T.I.G.E.R.S. was an experience of a lifetime.

Here are a few captures from our personal encounter, We had the opportunity to have an encounter with a baby Ape, a Gibbon and, we also held a 3 month White Bengal Tiger that my husband bottle fed. Unfortunately I don’t have a digital copy (only an 8 X 10 print) of that to share but let’s just say, was that ever so amazing! Although the kids may say feeding the 15 month (yes only 15 months) White Bengal Tiger was their favorite part!

TIGERSAPE

(my jean jacket is here)

So if you do ever manage to make your way to South Carolina, I’d highly recommend a trip to T.I.G.E.R.S. for absolutely sure!

III.     What I’m Loving

My Lumee Lighted Iphone Case in Gold Matte! Like I love, love, love this case! It not only serves for brighter selfies in dim light but it also serves well as a flashlight.

My URPower Diffuser which I have brought to work so that I can diffuse my Young Living Essential Oils there with me and I love this little diffuser, it’s small, it’s powerful enough and it has an option for me to have it diffuse for 30 seconds on and 30 seconds off continuously throughout the day so it not only prolongs the time of diffusing my oils but it allows for it to not be so overwhelming for those around me in the office. It has a feature that allows the colors to change and that is a nice touch as well. The kids now want one in their rooms and for the small price of $15.99 you kind of can’t beat it!

This Essie Nail Polish in Haute to Trot as well as Cascade Cool by Essie which is pictured just below here have been favs! I picked this one up from Kohl’s Department store I believe. Kind of been crushing on Essie I guess.

Yogi Green Tea, Blueberry Slim Life pictured below is stocked at work and at home! It has been my go-to drink next to water and my black iced coffee from Dunkin’ Donuts! I originally came across this tea at Whole Foods but have also found it at the Neighborhood Walmart as well so it’s very accessible. The Blueberry flavor is smooth and not overbearing which is what I like! It’s just so tasty and satisfying! If you are a tea drinker, go do yourself a favor and give this one a try!

My Erin Condren Planner is my last what i’ve been loving mention. I love a good planner and great stationary stock, always have and always will. I am a note taker and a planner and with this planner I happen to plug every single thing in it! I have the deluxe monthly planner. I heard so much about Erin Condren and wasn’t sure if I wanted to take the plunge but I’m so glad I did! I started with the deluxe version in leopard print that is personalized with my name, it’s so me! I mean I just love it so much, it’s my personal Master Go-To and I do legitimately Go-To it every single day! I have been noting everything into it these last five months and in a way it also serves as a memory book! Like I can look back at all that we did the last five months and smile at all the good reminders of good memories! I am able to write all the happs of the month as well as my ‘to-do’ lists and things I’d like to accomplish prior to month’s end. So if you are looking into a planner for 2018, definitely consider what Erin Condren has to offer!

IV.      What We’ve Been Up To

Bring your Child to Work Day was so much Fun! The kids had a blast and now when we are in the office I have sweet little memories with them in our workplace. Below were captures from Dad that morning!

APR 2017 635   my-whole-heart-for-my-whole-life-600x900APR 2017 641

(Clearly Dad couldn’t get our young man to take a serious picture but they are seriously cute!)

The kids have been enjoying Soccer! I am not sure if this is going to be their last season or not playing together (co-ed), we shall see what the future holds! We have the best crew of Soccer Moms so if it were up to me, we’d just keep team Tennessee together forever! #GoTennessee!

Junior is a Yankee again so we are super excited about that and he has enjoyed training with Dad as well as practice with his team and his first game is actually scheduled for tonight! #GoYankees!

juniorhitter

And our Sweet girl will be returning to Dance this summer, she is really looking forward to that. I considered signing her up for gymnastics as well, but I didn’t really want to overload our schedules with sports this summer so I chose to extend the sessions of dance rather than combining so she could focus and truly apply the effort rather than being stretched thin!

V.       What I’m Dreading

Preparing for our Annual Yard Sale. We have loads every year and I actually donate quite a bit to those that I may know have a need yet, it kind of blows my mind how much our family goes through each year, but it’s a sign of growth right! So thankful for it at the same time.

VI.     What I’m Working On

My overall Health & Wellness! Although it’s been a slower process than I imagined I’m thankful for the small steps in the right direction!

I had a new years goal, I don’t call them resolutions however I’m not opposed to doing so but I would say that I shed a lot of weight emotionally, mentally and, spiritually last year and I was pretty clear on my goal to now have that reflect more true to my physical. So it’s 1/2 way through the year now so I’m really looking forward to challenging myself even more and defining myself in more discipline!

VII.    What I’m Excited About

Summer, Summer and, Summer!

I mean who isn’t ready for summer! Only 7 more days of school until Summer Break is officially here! I don’t know where this school year has gone but it was a great year indeed and I believe it’s going to be an amazing summer! I have lots of simple and fun things planned for us to enjoy, so definitely looking forward to summer!

I will share our Summer Fun List in next weeks Blog! Really looking forward to soaking up all the Fun in the Sun!

VIII.   What I’m Watching & Reading

Reading

Over spring break I was able to complete Uninvited by Lysa T and I just love the way she writes, she has such a sound mind and a great gift and bringing it all back together! So since then I have just started Raising Boys and it’s not fully what I anticipated so far however I am looking forward to the next chapters as I kind of peeked ahead as I am hoping that the sneak peek is more of what I was looking for. I love reading lately and I’m so thankful for the precious time that I get to read! I’m looking forward to my next book already Unstuffed: Decluttering Your Home, Mind & Soul as the Raising Boys I’ll be done with that rather soon!

Watching

Okay, so Shades of Blue with Jennifer Lopez we started watching it one weekend and have watched every single episode since! We’ve also been watching Season 2 of UndergroundDesignated Survivor, The Bachelorette and, of course Grey’s Anatomy

IX.      What I’m Listening To

During our Road trip to Myrtle Beach South Carolina and along the way I purchased a ton of oldies but goodies and a few new but we automatically fell in love with the beats and feel of Social Club’s Newest Album and that was on repeat for the majority if not the entire way home with maybe a few interludes.

I’ve also been listening to Lost Boy from Ruth B. A brother sister duet performed it at our schools Talent Show this year in the beginning of April and I instantly had to find it and download this song and have been totally loving this one and I happen to like Golden by her as well. I discovered that as it’s on the same album as Lost Boy.

And I have been listening to the Bible App as I fall asleep, talk about sweet sleep!

X.       What I’m Wearing

Tanks like this Choker Tank and Ruffle Bottom Tank and Cami’s like this Taupe one have been great go to’s under my fav Open Cardigans! I have to say this year I really had to invest in some light weight and spring themed sweaters and cardigans more than ever before because the weather has been so back and forth.

I have always loved throwing a nice Cami, on with a Pair of Skinnies or Crops and a Long Cardigan like that one in Blue Poseidon! And speaking of Blue… I just adore this Royal Ruffle Top and I think I may get it in Lake Green as well!

With that cold weather My North Face has been such a luxury go-to!

Articles of Society are my new favorite brand of jeans, I am loving the Carly Crops as well as the Sarah Bay Skinnies and the Mya Skinny Blue are all of what I have so far and I really love the fit on me!

My Spring Leopard Scarf accompanied with my anorak or jean jacket have been another key go to with this weather

Crossbody Central Love is what I’ve been all about for like the last year when it comes to my handbags! I love the Cognac Crossbody, and I really wanted to get this one Crossbody with Circle but haven’t done so just quite yet! (sign up and you’ll get 15% off your 1st order!)

Oh and I have been loving my “Rae” Black Gladiator Sandal as well, I mean this shoe reps my middle name! Love, love!

I just purchased this handbag from Nordstrom’s Half Yearly Sale and I can’t wait for it to arrive! I guess I am just a true lover of all Jewel Tones!

XI.      What I’m Doing this Weekend

Heading to Miller Park to enjoy the Brewers Game, they are playing the Los Angeles Dodgers so that should be fun!

We are currently renovating our kitchen! Yes, call us crazy. What an undertaking and investment this has and will be but it seems we dedicate one big project around the house each year since we’ve moved into our 1943 build and I actually enjoy my Chip & Jo moments that I get to share with the hubbs! So this weekend I’m going to take some time to finalize more details on the final layout of how I envision this all coming together.

We also have three soccer games for the kids so, busy-busy!

XII.     What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month

Just the Kick Off of our all our Summer Adventures with my precious ones excites me!

XIII.    What Else is New

I am now officially the proud owner of www.stephanieraeortiz.com I believe that investment was just what I needed to further inspire me to really start actioning my inspirations. So I’ve been pretty excited about dedicating more time to that, getting it all up and running effectively. There is so much to learn so shout out to the late nights!

I wasn’t able to capture the best parts as I really focused on enjoying the year by being more present however get ready to see lots of me and the family in this coming year! I have a lot of fun and exciting things planned to share with you all!

So I hope you enjoy this little highlight reel of what I was able to capture!

Enjoy!

(Me with my Audition Pass, just outside of the auditions in Chicago! This is not the best of quality in pictures, but a memory that will last for a very long time!)

100daysofschool16

(The kids dressed up in honor of 100 days of school, aren’t they just the cutest! I mean I can just so see them this old, still the best of friends and super stylish! Haha! Probably my favorite picture of the year! They totally got into character here, love their faces.)

littlemannbabigcourt

(This young man truly excels academically and so he received a free Milwaukee Bucks ticket for his Academic excellence. We bought three additional tickets and enjoyed the game, that night they happened to host a few leads from Nickelodeon, so we were sure the head up to Milwaukee early to enjoy all the festivities. We made an entire night of it and it was so fun for Will because he had the privilege of shooting a few hoops on an official NBA Basketball Court! The kids soccer coach Mike actual is security for the Milwaukee Bucks games so he is seen here in the picture to the right, so that was fun!)

willandbucky

(My handsome with ‘Bucky’ who is not actually Bucky, but I was calling him that all night and was kind of cracking myself up while the hubs was a little less enthused about it! However, every time I would say it, I would crack up inside! So, to be proper here is My Handsome with Bango, the Bucks’ mascot.)

bucky

(The kids with Bucky aka Bango, 😉 to funny!)

rednoseday

(Here is a pic of the kids with their IB Coordinator, they love her and were super excited to share the awareness of Red Nose Day! As soon as we seen these little red noses hit the shelf we grabbed two of them right away as they sold out the year prior and we were bummed. They sell for only $1 at Walgreens and the proceeds contributed to tons of projects for children. To name a few over 860,000 children in Africa have been given life-saving vaccines, eye exams and glasses for children in need here in the USA, it’s just a fun way to have a fun day fundraising to help fight for kids’ poverty in America and around the world.)
